6PM.com - Choose your Shoes, They will show you a matching bag

The Rocky Mountain News has a great review of a new shoe site that has a great twist. 6PM.com.

Based in Greenwood Village, the newest entry into the online shoe market is 6PM.com, with a unique gimmick. When shoppers choose shoes, the Web site automatically suggests matching handbags and vice versa. Shoppers can even vote on how well they think the site matched up the shoes and handbags. The site carries all the top name brands, many on sale up to 73 percent off.

But the best feature is that shipping is free, both on the return and delivery ends. This means if you are not sure whether you’re a 7 or a 7 1/2, order both sizes and keep the pair that fits. Won’t cost you a dime extra. Plus 6PM guarantees if you find the shoe lower-priced elsewhere online, the Web site will match the price less 10 percent.

Sizes range from 3-13 and AAAA narrow to EE wide; prices range from $29.99 for Minnetonka moccasins to $800 for a pair of Donald J. Pliners or Bruno Maglis. Purses by designers such as Francesco Biasia and Kathy Van Zeeland start at about $30 and can go as high as $580 for a Kenneth Cole.

Sneakers - 2 Billion Dollar Industry Led by Air Jordans

You do not think that the sneaker industry is so big.

A good pair of basketball sneakers can cost anywhere between $100 and $250.

The sale of basketball sneakers in the United States generated $2.08 billion dollars in 2004, according to the 2005 SGMA International’s Recreation Market report. SGMA International is a trade association that consists of manufacturers and retailers in the sports products industry.

Jordan and Nike revolutionized sneakers in 1985 with the debut of the first Air Jordans. That helped elevate sneakers to fashion statements.

Nike has since released 20 different types of Air Jordans. Retro is in today and that means players want sneakers that were popular in the late 1990s. But they are not easy to get.

Stores and Web sites never seem to have enough supply to meet demand. Press Of Atlantic City.
