Cruise Wear?

OK, I know that I am guilty of posting about Christmas pre-Thanksgiving.  I also know that we are all looking for that great shoe for all the Christmas/Holiday parties that are just around the corner.

But I am seeing shoes for Cruise Wear… good grief, I can’t think of cruises right now… I have parties to attend!!

Check out this absolutely gorgeous Jimmy Choo shoe that will make a statement with the perfect little black dress….  picture courtesy of Jimmy Choo.com

Happy Thanksgiving

I will be observing Thanksgiving…(and doing the cooking) so have a great Thanksgiving!!!

See ya next time… after I have run about a million miles on the treadmill to combat all the yummy (if I do say so myself) food!!

UGH… Time for UGGS

Well, its finally happened!  We are waiting here in the Northeast for that dreaded first snow fall… I know that Uggs aren’t the latest thing – but you know, they are still a worthy shoe for that nasty time of year we call winter.

Check these out from www.uggaustralia.com

Dancing With the Shoes?

I finally saw Dancing With the Stars, with football great, Emmett Smith. How fun is that show? The moves are sexy and one can still watch it with their family… young or old.

It made me think, what about dancing shoes? I have heard from my friend Jacqueline that they are great for everyday wear because they are so comfortable.

Take a look at the ones on this site and tell me if you would wear these around.

Among Many, the REAL Reason to Love Shoes

I am noticing that finally the image we send to women and girls about their bodies is finally coming under fire.  There are actually countries that have banned super thin models, think Spain – for example.

With Lauren Greenfield’s documentary Thin exploring the epidemic of eating disorders among women, I wanted to point out what a friend said to me about shoes the other day…. Shoes are a woman’s best friend, because they always fit.

Isn’t that the truth?  As far as I know, the practice of binding girl’s feet, has ended.  Now if we could just celebrate the beauty of all women of all shapes and sizes!

Neiman Marcus - The Christmas Catalog - Go to their website and check it out!!

Every year I am astounded by the things offered in the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book, but at least they call it a “Christmas Book”… and damn, Santa never brought me anything remotely resembling the Virgin Galactic Charter to Space (offered at a cool $1,764,000.00).

What does this have to do with shoes, you ask?  Well, go to Neiman Marcus on line and check out page 125 and tell me what you think about the Emporio Armani Boots… they are the first word in cowboy!!

Take a look at www.neimanmarcus.com , you will have to click on the Christmas Book, but it is worth seeing how the other half lives!

Will it Ever Stop Raining?

With the endless rain that seems to come with life in New England, I am beginning to understand how women could function and only buy “sensible shoes”.  Shoes such as these from LLBean, or Land’s End.  They are comfortable, functional and perfect for the endless nasty weather.

These shoes are also a great price at $29.95.

Happy Veteran’s Day

I am not going to post about shoes today. I am simply going to say - if you see a Veteran of this war, or any War thank them! They are the true heroes of today!

A Shoe Story - It’s about the Keds

I was talking with a friend the other day about the first time I ever did something that defined my shoe passion.

 It was second grade…

I was staying at my grandmother’s house and she determined that she, not I would decide what was worn to school.

She had an intense dislike for sneakers and insisted that I wear my little Mary Janes with my cute little dress to school. Remember wearing these? Now I think they are adorable, but back then, I had a different idea.

In my second grader’s sense of fashion, these were just NOT cool…. anybody who was anybody wore Keds. I remember being so determined that I been seen wearing the cool shoes of my peers that I took my Keds to school in my book satchel and changed into them as soon as I got around the corner on my walk to school.  Problem here?  Being in second grade, I forgot to change back  and of course – you guessed it – BUSTED!!

Remember Keds?

Keds like these were where it was at… and can you believe that second grader now lusts for all kinds of shoes? Not just Keds?  Didn’t think so.

Election Night Shoes

OK, I admit it - I am being an utter and complete geek, and watching all the endless talking heads blather on and on about what they think about what the rest of us think and how and why we vote the way we do.

Personally, I wonder if we aren’t headed back to the 70’s†¦ never mind why I say that. However, with that thought in mind, take a look at this site. It screams what the 70’s were about†¦ and yes, Virginia it is about shoes.
