Women‘s apparel maker Liz Claiborne Inc (NYSE:LIZ - news) is courting high-end designer Vera Wang over a potential bid for her company, the New York Post reported on Friday, citing unnamed sources.
The report, citing industry executives, said such a purchase would help boost Liz Claiborne‘s strategy of targeting more upscale customers. The report said sales at Vera Wang amount to about $300 million annually.
Wang, known for couture wedding gowns, has since branched out to other lines of womens‘ clothing, shoes and accessories.  via Oberlin Times.
